Benjamin James Watches is a British microbrand founded by designer Benjamin Adams, who brings nearly a decade of experience in the watch industry. Before launching his own brand, Adams led product development at Geckota and co-founded the FORZO sub-brand, contributing to over 20 watch collections and more than 80 variations .
The brand’s philosophy centers on a passion for classic proportions, refined details, and the artistry of watch design. Inspired by the scenic English countryside of Adams’ upbringing, Benjamin James Watches aims to offer timepieces that are timeless yet contemporary, focusing on smaller, classic sizing that stands apart in an industry often dominated by larger watches .
The debut collection, Scarifour, features a rectangular case design reminiscent of the 1970s and 80s, with integrated bracelets and a variety of dial colors, including lavender purple and ice blue . The watches are available with either Swiss-made Ronda 762 quartz movements or Sellita SW210-1 B hand-wound mechanical movements, catering to different preferences .
Benjamin James Watches launched its first collection via Kickstarter, achieving its funding goal rapidly. However, the campaign was unexpectedly canceled, and all backers were refunded. Despite this, the brand proceeded to release its watches independently, with subsequent models, including those with champagne and racing green dials, selling out quickly .
With a commitment to offering a fresh perspective on classic design, Benjamin James Watches continues to appeal to enthusiasts who value the finer details and timeless aesthetics in watchmaking.
