Naoya Hida & Co. is a Japanese independent watch brand founded by Naoya Hida, a former employee of Seiko and Patek Philippe, producing extremely refined dress watches in Geneva with movements sourced from specialist suppliers and assembled and finished by Hida himself. The brand is celebrated for a classical Japanese aesthetic sensibility applied to traditional European watchmaking — spare, considered, and executed to a finishing standard that has earned recognition at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.
Naoya Hida watches are typically time-only or feature simple complications — a date, a seconds subdial — in cases sized for traditional dress watch proportions. Dial design is characterised by extraordinary restraint: applied indices, restrained typography, and carefully considered colour work that references traditional Japanese aesthetic values including wabi-sabi and the beauty of emptiness. Movements are finished to an extremely high standard, with bevelling and anglage comparable to the finest Swiss independents.
Naoya Hida represents the meeting of Japanese cultural sensibility and the highest European craft traditions — a combination that is genuinely rare in independent watchmaking.
